Countdown: Common Grounds
TEDxPortHarcourt 2026
TEDxPortHarcourt 2026 is themed Common Grounds, exploring the critical intersection between artificial intelligence and environmental responsibility, where productivity meets sustainability and innovation is balanced by accountability. As AI accelerates business efficiency, creative output and industrial performance, it also increases demand for energy-intensive data centres, critical mineral extraction and expanding digital infrastructure. For the Niger Delta, a region whose history has been shaped by resource extraction and industrial development, this dual reality presents both an opportunity and a responsibility. The theme calls for an honest conversation about how human ingenuity and machine intelligence can drive economic transformation without deepening ecological degradation or social inequity.
