Dr Amarachukwu Karen Allison
Medical Doctor
Dr Amara graduated in 2013 from the University of Port Harcourt with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery and has been practicing medicine for 9 years. Besides being a Medical Doctor, she is also a fitness enthusiast and an entrepreneur. She started her career as a House Officer at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital in November 2013. Prior to joining International SOS in February 2020, she held a Medical Officer position at various clinics in Nigeria including KEZ Clinics and RoyalCare Medical Specialist Clinic. She currently works as a Senior Medical doctor with International SOS. Dr Allison also holds several licenses and certifications including CPR/AED/First Aid/BLS Instructor from the American Heart Association as well as Advances Cardiovascular Life Support Experienced Provider (ACLS) and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) provider. She has just completed the Operational Underwater Medicine course at the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa. This puts her as the First female Dive Medical Specialist in Nigeria.She is also currently building a Health-Tech solution platform which she hopes to launch in 2023.The Ogun State government acknowledged Dr Allison in March 2020, for leading the early diagnosis and rapid containment of the first COVID-19 infection in Nigeria. She was also recognized by WHO Nigeria, United Nations, BBC Africa, CNN Africa, Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD). To mention a few.
