Africa is a nation filled with tons of nature-inspired and cultural graphic identities. Nigeria as an African country is not left behind in this. Foreign trendsetters do not need to be the ones to attach value to African designs. In this rousing talk, Ashley calls upon Nigerians to proudly establish their own design styles and also lists ways in which indigenous designers can make their works compete with pride in the global market. Ashley Stewart is a lecturer of graphic design and communication at University of Port Harcourt. She has obtained Masters degrees- MSc. and M.A. in multidisciplinary fields and is a distinguished alumnus of Loughborough University, United Kingdom. She has published several scholarly articles with design criticism, value and management at the core. Using education as a platform, she tackles complex challenges associated with design management in the classroom and within organizations.
